Marchmont: Sonata No. 1 in A 2023
The first sonata out of the folder, and the argument for the whole project: the edition untangles the 1928 fair copy from two later revisions and prints the slow movement's original ending, which the 1955 copyist quietly regularised.

Written for a performance where the printed cadenza felt like someone else's speech — shorter than the standard ones, and built from the second theme, which never gets a turn.
